The Becoming Series The Unnaturals Series

Just a Few Updates on What’s Coming Down the Pike…

The past few weeks have been busy, busy, busy on this end! I’ve been charging ahead with writing a book, outlining a whole new series I’ve had an idea for, and making some semi-drastic changes to the next book I’m going to be releasing.

Speaking of book releases…

I’ve been so busy that I didn’t even notice until now the book post I scheduled back on September 20th didn’t even go out! How embarrassing! So yes, I did in fact have a book release back in September, and it looks like I didn’t even announce it here, but that’s because the bloody post was still in draft rather than scheduled, because I’m an idiot when it comes to technology sometimes!

All that said, I figured I’d drop in and give you guys an update on what’s going on within all the projects I’ve been working on and how things are going with me.

The Unnaturals Series

Reapers: First up, as I stated above, Reapers released back on September 20th, so if you’re enjoying that series and haven’t checked it out and picked up your copy yet, what are you waiting for?!

Demon Marked: This is the next book in the series, and I’m currently outlining it. The process seems to be going smoothly, though I wasn’t entirely sure what all was going to happen in this book—I know where it needs to end, and I know the gist of some of the events that take place, but I’m really trying to hammer out the finer details so I know where I’m going and what I’m doing with it. Hopefully its outline will be done soon and I can get started on it, but first…

The Becoming Series

Bloodlines continues apace! I’ve been trucking along with writing that book, which has come with its own assortment of speedbumps and roadblocks. In the process of writing, I discovered that the entire subplot storyline I’d been writing into the book wasn’t working. Well, it was working on its own; it just…wasn’t really meshing well with the main storyline. I think it was overcomplicating everything and distracting from the core three/four characters I wanted to write about. Especially since that main storyline is complicated and complex enough on its own, doubly so when you factor in the psychological level of things that I’ve been exploring in the book. So I made the difficult but necessary decision to kill some darlings by slicing the subplot completely out of the book. This meant that something like twenty thousand words (the equivalent of about eighty pages if it was a paperback book) were removed from the book, and I’ve got some extra writing to do because I want to smooth out and flesh out some more of what’s there (and make some adjustments to what I have planned for the ending, which hasn’t been written yet), but I think the book will be much better for it.

As for the next book in the series after Bloodlines, I think I have some ideas for what’s going to happen in it, too. I like to think they’re good ideas. My main dilemma for it right now, though, is that I don’t have a clue what I’m going to call it! Titles either come really easily to me or take forever for me to figure out, and book seven looks like it’s going to be solidly in the second camp. I even had to postpone getting the cover made because I can’t come up with a title! (I’m open to suggestions from any of you readers lol.)
