The Becoming Series The Deadening Series The Unnaturals Series Writing Updates

I Figure It’s About Time I Played Catch-Up With You Guys

Where is this year going? Seriously.

I’ve been pretty busy here lately, and the year has just been flying by, so there might be quite a bit to chat about here in my update that used to be weekly but recently hasn’t been lol. So I figured I’d take a bit to give you an idea of what I’ve been working on for the past little bit! (And, hopefully, start updating here a little more often than I have been.)

A Few Quick Things

I got a fun little mention in Bookbub’s blog (a blog geared toward authors), where I was included on the list of direct sales strategies that the editors at BookBub like. That was rather pleasing—I wasn’t aware I was even really on anybody’s radar in that way lol. Especially since I’ve only just recently gotten the shop up and running and am still tinkering with stuff on the back end!

Which, of course, brings me to the reminder that the shop even exists. You can buy all of my ebooks there, plus autographed paperbacks! Right now, The Becoming is the only book in stock, but I’ve placed orders for the others and am waiting on them to arrive so I can mark them in stock. If, for some reason, you’re wanting to go ahead and order any of the other books and are willing to wait for them to arrive before they ship (which, of course, could cause a delay), let me know and I’ll mark them in stock once the books ship from Amazon!

Also, the first books in The Becoming Series and The Unnaturals Series are still available for free download from all major ebook retailers and right in my shop! Be sure to grab your copies if you haven’t already. In addition, the second books in each series (Ground Zero and Hellforged, respectively) are still on sale for only $2.99, so if you’re interested in really diving into these series, now is a great time to do so!

Books purchased directly from me are available in epub format, which is compatible with pretty much every e-reader on the planet, and when you purchase through my site, it will direct you to a page courtesy of BookFunnel, where you can have the book sent directly to your Kindle device or app, and it also includes instructions on how to add the book onto other devices. The books sold through my site are DRM-free, too, which I hear is pretty important to a lot of people.

A Bit About My Writing

Well, I’ve been chugging along with the revisions for Bloodlines. It’s my top priority when I’m not working, because I want to get this book out sooner rather than later. And I’m finally beginning the revisions of the last quarter of the book! I’ve had to go back and add some stuff, clean up a lot—there were quite a few spots where I put things in brackets like “insert a scene where X happens from Y’s POV here” that needed to be filled in—but I think the extra time I’ve taken on this book is going to make it that much better.

Speaking of Bloodlines, in case you missed this, I posted an excerpt from the book—one that’s never been posted anywhere before (as in, this isn’t even in the sneak peek in the back of book five)! Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think. Are you looking forward to Bloodlines? I hope so, because I’m looking forward to getting it out there for you guys to read!

As for ongoing plans, once Bloodlines is done with revisions, I’m going to be putting the preorder up on the major retailers for you guys to start preordering while I do a quick proofread spit ’n’ polish on the book. After that, I’m going to have a little bit of a bifurcated plan going forward.

First, since it’s already outlined and ready to be started on, I’m going to put my head down and start writing Demon Marked, which is the fifth book in The Unnaturals Series. It’s going to be an adventure, and I already know what’s going to happen and how it’s going to end—and I’m just hoping folks don’t get mad at me for the ending lol. It’ll be a fun write and I’m hoping you guys do end up enjoying once it’s done.

After that, or maybe I should say simultaneously (sort of) is the writing of The Deadening. This book has had a very weird history. Some of you may have heard of it—but probably not a lot of you, judging by the initial sales figures. Waaay back in I think it was 2015, my intention for The Deadening was to serialize it as five novellas. This was back when serializing releases as novellas was a bit of a thing online. I’d managed to get the first novella released, then I got sidetracked because I started going back to school full time and just…never finished it. I’ve always wanted to go back to it, though; the idea is bloody brilliant (in my not-so-humble opinion), and you guys are going to love it when I do get to finishing it. I took a major step toward getting this book done recently: not only have I finished the basics of the outline, but I also got the cover completed. If you follow me on Facebook (my profile, not my page), you might have seen it already.

So my general plan is that while I’m working on Demon Marked, I’ll be refining and expanding on the outline for The Deadening and get that taken care of, and as soon as I finish the outline and am happy with it, I’m going to work on it on the weekends while Demon Marked gets my writing time during the week. And as soon as I finish Demon Marked, The Deadening will get my full attention while Retribution (book seven in The Becoming Series) will get the weekend writing slot.

I promise, this all makes sense in my head.

I’ll update with more later this week—I don’t want to make this post too long. I figure it’s about time I made a post chatting about some of the books and such I’ve read and what movies and TV shows I’ve been watching, since I haven’t updated about that in a while.

I’m so excited to get these books written and get them out there for you guys to read! Which of my books are you looking forward to the most?

Let Me Know Your Thoughts!
