Bricks of the Dead Reviews The Becoming, Audible Picks up The Becoming: Ground Zero, and I’m Going to Crypticon!

Wow, it’s been a bit since I’ve hopped over here and updated, hasn’t it? Needless to say, I’ve been very busy with my new job, so things got a little hectic for a bit there. Thankfully, I’ve found a few minutes to update everyone on the World of Jessica (TM) and the book series!

First up, The Becoming has been reviewed by Bricks of the Dead:

From paragraph one the action is well-choreographed and fact paced. I find action in books a tough sell, as some writers get bogged down in the details, but in this case, Meigs balances description with action while throwing in character development to boot. I own an E-reader, so there is no page turning, but I found I was so excited about the action sequences that I was hitting the page button early just so I could get to the next sentence!

As for my other news…

I’m excited to announce two awesome things. First, I’m going to be at Crypticon Seattle this year alongside eight other Permuted Press authors (Timothy W. Long, Peter Clines, Eloise J. Knapp, David Snell, Gareth Wood, Tony Faville, Craig DiLouie, and Scott Baker). I have my fingers crossed that my second book, The Becoming: Ground Zero will be available by then so I can offer it for sale alongside the first one. 🙂

Speaking of the second book…

I’m happy to inform everyone that Audible.com has picked up The Becoming: Ground Zero to produce as an audiobook as part of a massive twenty-three book deal with Permuted Press. You can see the official announcement and the complete list of books Audible picked up right here!

That said, I have seen sketches and the in-progress images of the cover for The Becoming: Ground Zero, and I am very excited to share the completed project with you guys. I’m also very excited for the book’s release too; this is the stuff no one has read yet, the part of the trilogy that I had not gotten the chance to self-publish before being offered the book deal with Permuted. Needless to say, I’m impatiently waiting on its release date (which I don’t have yet!) so I can get it in your hands and see what you think of it. 🙂

That’s all the news I have to pass on right now! If you haven’t picked up the first book in the trilogy yet, well, you know where to go to check out information on it! And keep your eyes on the site for more information on the second book’s impending release!
